The Avon Archaeological Unit is an independent archaeological consultancy founded in 1992.

The Unit undertakes a full range of archaeological projects. Our core work is the provision of independent consultancy and field work as part of the planning process. In addition we carry out academic research and public presentations.

The Unit is managed by Principal Archaeologist Andrew Young, a member of the Institute of Field Archaeologists (IFA), and is approved by Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, Bath & NE Somerset and Somerset County Councils.

Our project team offers a professional and straightforward service and we have a proven track record of completing projects large or small, on time and within budget.
